Music and Studying

So it’s that time for a big exam and you’re pulling hairs out of your head trying to memorize everything and anything to pass. Nothing seems to be sticking. Information gets lost amongst your thoughts. Well here’s a solution I highly recommend worth trying: Play music.

Music of our liking naturally soothes us, hence why we listen to it. Why not mix soothing and anxiety over a test together. Talking from experience, music has really improved my exam grades or really grades overall. While listening to music and reading over something that I need to take in, my brain connects the music lyrics with the text that I have read. Then when it comes time to test and I read the question, the music instructor in my brain begins his ensemble. Connections from the song and the text mix. The answer literally pops out at you. If it helps, you can sing the text you read with the same tune of the song that was playing.

I have always been one to try and figure out different ways to study. Though I admit this style of studying is not always for everyone, it simply is a new thing to try. It can at times lead to confusion for some. For others it can be of great use.

During the school year I will be trying new ways to study and will post my findings on here. Some ideas may be crazy but hey, if it gains an A, I am more than happy to do it. If you have any comments feel free to leave some! I am more than welcome to suggestions.

If there is a particular topic you want to see be discussed let us know! Remember to stay safe, dream big, there are no limits! Go Cards!
