Job Description
ATTENTION Occupational Therapy and Psych majors!!!!!! Seeking one (or more) OT students or psychology majors to care for and work with 18 year old non-speaking autistic son. Position begins in June - Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays to start 0600-330pm. Training and some afternoon/weekend hours available to start 4/21. Days can be flexible to some extent.
We are looking for someone with an open mind that thinks out side of the box. We approach some behavioral problems from a standpoint of motor control issues rather than cognitive deficits and can train the right person to be a communication partner for our son. The position would carry into the school year and involve help getting him to school in the morning as well as some evening and weekends. May hire more than one position to fill needs. Some cooking and light housework involved. This would be a great job and amazing learning opportunity for the right individual(s).
